Would you like to save several hours and be consistent with your deployments? If you stay current with your deployments and organize them so you can deliver them at any time, you will automatically save time. By continuously testing releases, creating deployments, and delivering them silently, you can move into an efficient as-needed deployment delivery mode. As a case study, we will review the process used by KTGY Architecture + Planning to deploy Autodesk products to more than 400 systems across 7 offices and 2 countries. A common workflow issue is managing drawings with CAD standards issues: blocks on the wrong layer, text with the wrong style or size, and so on. But taking the time to fix these issues can be a daunting process. In this lab, we will walk through several tools that AutoCAD software offers to speed up this process. You will also learn techniques to make your drawings open faster, have smaller file sizes, and reduce crashing. This is a crucial part of your day-to-day workflow!

Most AutoCAD users have either taken an AutoCAD course or have been trained by existing users within their business. Very rarely do they get to explore some of the tools that aren’t standard. This session will address those “I wish I knew that” statements. This fast-paced class will introduce users to 45 important tips and tricks that can be achieved across “vanilla” AutoCAD software. We’ll categorize the tips across each area of AutoCAD, from navigation through to output—including Render, Creation, and Modify. The session will have a question-and-answer session at the end where the audience will be able to ask any questions that arise from the session.

At its core, AutoCAD software is a platform that you can extend to automate workflows to manage projects and streamline design processes. While there are many benefits to extending AutoCAD, managing the resulting custom files and settings can be challenging. AutoCAD provides a variety of tools to help you develop various custom files and settings, but much is left up to you regarding how you should manage files and settings and eventually migrate them to a newer release. This session will introduce you to some of the tools and best practices that you can use to simplify documenting, managing, and migrating your custom files and settings.

AutoCAD Plant 3D has quickly become a premier solution for piping design in the plant community. For a complete plant project deliverable, we need to understand the best practices in being interoperable with additional Autodesk® products. While some of these products,such as AutoCAD® Revit® Structure and Autodesk® Navisworks® software, exist in Autodesk® Plant Design Suite, there is also a need outside of the suite to create mechanical, HVAC, and electrical models. This class will focus on how to bring all of these premier Autodesk applications together for a complete interoperable plant project that greatly enhances overall coordination.

The current industry standard for engineering firms that use Revit software involves focusing on the out-of-the-box content.
