Create and set up templates

Any referenced datasets can be downloaded from "Module downloads" in the module overview.

Creating view templates - Exercise

With our sections and elevations created, we should stop repeating going into visibility graphics and constantly turning stuff on and off. Let’s just do that one more time and apply it to some views.

To create a view template, follow along with these steps.

  1. Open Revit.
  2. Open the model you have been working in.
  3. Open the elevation that you used to turn off the structural levels. Mine was PHARMACY 1502 – 04.
  4. In the Project Browser, right-click on the elevation mentioned above.
  5. Select Create View Template From View....



  6. Call it Exam Room Elevation.



  7. Click OK.
  8. For the next dialog, click OK.



  9. Select the three remaining Pharmacy Elevations and right-click.
  10. Select Apply View Template… (see the image below).



  11. Select the Exam Room Elevation template.



  12. Open one of the elevations. Notice it looks pretty good!
  13. Save the model.
