In this unit, you will learn how to review, create, and edit roles in Vault for user and user group permission assignment purposes.

The first task you will learn is how to review and edit roles in Vault.

The roles that are assigned to a user or group when they are created,

determine their permissions to access files and folders

To review and edit the roles,

first log in to the Autodesk Data Management Server Console or ADMS

as an administrator,

then select Administration from the Tools menu.

Or you can log in to the Vault client as an administrator and navigate to Tools>

Administration > Global settings.

Next in the Security tab, select Manage Roles.

The Roles Management dialog box shows Vault's

default out-of-the-box roles and their descriptions.

You can create new roles by selecting the New Role

button or the Copy button to copy an existing role.

Then edit permissions by selecting the Edit button.

When editing a role, The Edit Role dialog displays,
