Scenario management allows a hydraulic modeler to analyze and compare multiple alternatives with different demand, pump controls, tank sizes, system outages, and other design possibilities.
In this tutorial, you use the Scenario Explorer to set up an existing conditions and maximum day demand scenario.
Note: this new scenario is a duplicate of the currently selected scenario, which, in this case, is the BASE, Base Network Scenario.
This scenario represents the existing system under normal demand conditions. Typically, a scenario is set up initially to reflect existing conditions, and another is created to reflect the alternatives.
Note: In the Network Data Scenario(s) list, a red asterisk appears on the file being copied.
The ACTIVE dataset refers to the dataset associated with the currently active scenario. Cloning the ACTIVE dataset is recommended to ensure all current data from the selected data set is copied into the new dataset.
The new dataset is now associated with the EX_MAXDAY scenario.
The scenario is ready to be edited.
