We are in InfraWorks looking at our bridge.
00:17
We have just received the data regarding the new piers and the new girders for our design.
00:24
To add in parametric parts, custom made parametric parts I'm going to go to the manage tab of the ribbon content, these also.
00:39
The style pallet.
00:42
And in the style palette, I'll, come down to parametric models.
00:46
I'm going to open up the bridge Parametric Model Area.
00:49
And under there, there's girders and piers.
00:51
I'm going to start with the piers. I'll select on that.
00:54
And these are the piers that are currently available.
00:57
These are ones that I could add in or swap out in our bridge design currently.
01:02
What I'm going to do to add in the custom part is come down to the plus sign.
01:06
Now, this is going to add in a new style.
01:10
If you click on the plus sign at the top, it will add in a new folder for managing styles.
01:15
And I don't need to do that. I'm just going to click on the green plus sign to add a new style.
01:19
Up at the top, I'm going to go to the Model URI.
01:22
I'll select on the Ellipsis Button and then browse to our project area.
01:27
I'll go into the pier and girder definitions that they've given me and find the Hammerhead Pier.ipt.
01:35
There are two types of files, IPTs and IAMs that you can use for this.
01:39
And I've received the IPT files. I'll click "Open" for that.
01:43
Now, in the construction of this part, certain things were check marked and turned on.
01:49
So, the data is set for this.
01:51
It knows it's a bridge. It knows it's a pier, and it understands the settings here.
01:56
For this, I was to come down and say "OK" and add that in.
01:60
It's called the hammerhead pier when we get in to use it.
02:03
There is another hammerhead, so I need to make sure I keep track of that name.
02:07
The other one that I want to do is I'm going to click on the parent folder to go up a level, so I can go over to girders.
02:14
And in the girders here, come down to add a part.
02:20
And again, in the Model URI, Ellipsis Button, choose Girder.ipt and open that.
02:26
Now, this one doesn't know what it is, so I'm going to select on the "Domain" and set it to "Bridge".
02:31
In the component types, select the girder for that.
02:36
Down below, everything else is there, so you can see a preview of it down here.
02:42
I'll click "OK" and add that in.
02:44
That one is simply called girder.
02:46
And again, there's no other names like that, so I'll be able to find that fairly easily when I need it.
02:52
I'm going to close the Style Pallet.
02:54
That has added those two parts to this file only and so will not be available in other projects unless you import those as well.
03:04
Now with that, I'm going to select one of the piers that we have.
03:10
Again, the second select to get the actual pier itself.
03:13
I'll come over here to the type of pier and choose the enhanced standard pier.
03:19
I'm going to scroll down until I see the hammerhead pier.
03:22
I remember it had, hammerhead pier is the name.
03:24
I'll select on that, and that places that in.
03:30
You can see that is located there.
03:33
Now, it was built in a fairly generalized way.
03:37
You can see if I scroll down here, there is a lot of detail to this that was provided to me.
03:44
I need to go down into the column's area here.
03:47
And the left width should actually be 10 feet for this.
03:52
And it's actually changing it as I do this.
03:56
Ten feet to the right and a thickness of 8.
04:03
And then I'm going to scroll down a little bit further into the cap area and find the thickness there and make sure that matches.
04:11
That is.
04:13
There we are.
04:16
And now, there is that pier per the dimensions that the parametric model allowed us to change.
04:25
With that in place and that pier still selected, and again, checking the cart to make sure that I have the pier selected. That's something else.
04:32
I'll right-click and say "Apply" to all piers.
04:35
Very similar to what we did when we place the piers in the first place.
04:39
And now that pier is available to each of those piers.
04:45
I'm going to Left-Click on one of the girders.
04:51
And for this, go into the Internal Style, the style that's assigned to it.
04:57
I'll scroll down to girder.
05:04
Make sure I don't go past it here.
05:08
See, there are a lot of options here that are available.
05:18
And there we are. It's towards the bottom, unassigned girder.
05:21
I'll select on that.
05:23
And it is replacing--
05:34
oh, I set it to the internal.
05:36
I'm just going to slide down here to the bottom again and choose that again to place that for the external.
05:45
And you can see it's computing out.
05:47
And now we've got that in place.
05:49
We do have two of those in place.
05:54
With that still selected, and again, checking the girder group, I'll right-click, "Apply To All Girder Groups".
06:03
And there that is.
06:07
I'll left-click off to the side.
06:09
There is the roadway is added back to the top.
06:11
Roadway and deck has added back to the top.
06:13
And those custom-made parametric cards have been added to our bridge.
