Your Stored Documents and Summary

00:04

Now that you've finished your Vault migration and upgrade, what's next?

00:09

Let's take a look at your stored documents.

00:11

If you are using content center libraries, you will need to create a new library partition and copy those custom libraries.

00:19

Migrating custom libraries after the upgrade, you must make a new partition,

00:23

and then this partition is needed for each product release year that may access your Vault.

00:28

So if you're going to have documents that were created in 2014, 2018, 2019, you are going to need a partition for each of those.

00:36

Libraries must also be migrated or installed in each of these partitions,

00:41

and it will go through a migration much like the one that you did during the installation.

00:46

You can download or install new standard libraries for the newest. They are released yearly by Autodesk.

00:52

But any previous year libraries that you may use must be migrated to the new partition so that the older files can access reference parts.

01:00

So a drawing created using parts from a 2018 library needs to access a 2018 library in order to open or update.

01:08

This also applies to custom content center libraries.

01:11

You will need to make a copy of the custom content center library and then migrate it.

01:16

Updating your CAD files.

01:18

Update Inventor files using the task scheduler.

01:21

One of the reasons or some of the reasons to do this or the pros to updating the Inventor files,

01:27

Your new features are immediately unlocked and you are immediately able to update to the new content center files.

01:34

The negatives to doing this are the process can be lengthy and if done all at once or can cause inconsistencies if done as needed.

01:41

And updated files are not backward compatible, so you do need to make sure that all of your CAD versions have been upgraded.

01:48

Now that we've been through all of the information, you are ready for Go-Live day.

01:54

Things to remember on Go Live day: Planning - follow your plan.

01:59

If you've done the testing already, follow the process that worked in testing.

02:03

If you have any issues, contact support, and when you're done, make sure you do a backup.

02:09

As I've mentioned before, make sure your designated support specialist, your value-added reseller,

02:15

your Autodesk account team know the plan date for your migration so that they can make sure the appropriate people are prepared.

02:22

If you do have any problems, create a Severity 1 ticket,

02:26

and these must be created over the phone, and then you can work with support to resolve the issues.

02:32

The following help resources are included in the resources PDF.

02:37

The Hub is a place to learn, connect, and to share.

02:41

You have access to articles, previous webcasts, upcoming webcasts, sharing the expertise with industries and peers.

02:48

And then this list of links will be available in the PDF for you.

02:53

But as I mentioned throughout the presentation, there are instructions on how to do a B2B migration, how to install SQL,

03:01

what the Vault server requirements are, how to install Vault on Windows 2016 and 2019.

03:06

This one will include how to set up IIS, how to upgrade a Vault server, how to create the alternate Snapshot method,

03:14

what the Replication Technology is in 2022, how to upgrade a Replicated Vault,

03:20

network license service models, validating your backup, doing testing of migration,

03:25

and how to upgrade SQL and the SQL versions that are allowed.

03:29

Thank you everybody for watching today.

03:31

And again, this should prepare you for any future upgrades.

03:35

And, as always, you can reach out should you need any support.
