Creating a Pier Schedule
Here’s a hint. In Revit land, a pier is actually a structural column. This is different from a typical Revit project though. It’s different because when we imported our Civil Structures, we actually introduced a bunch of new parameters we can add to our schedules!
- Open the model you have been working in
- You can be in any view to do this, but let’s go to the South elevation view anyway
- On the View tab, click Schedules then select Schedules Quantities
- Scroll down to Structural Columns
- For the Name, type in PIER SCHEDULE
- Click OK
- Select the parameters in the left column, click the Add button and add the parameters shown below, in this order:
- Go to the Filter tab
- Filter by: Type Mark
- Begins with: P-
- Go to the Sorting/Grouping tab
- Sort by: Type Mark
- Check Grand Totals on
- Go to the Formatting tab
- Select CIP concrete volume
- Select Calculate totals:
- With CIP concrete volume still selected, click the Field Format… button
- Uncheck Use project settings
- Change the units to Cubic yards
- Click OK
- Click OK again. You now have a schedule calculating your concrete volumes
