On the home screen, let's create a new project.

So we'll go ahead and select new project.

And in the new project dialog box,

we'll just ensure that we're using our structural analysis, default template file

and then we'll go ahead and select. OK.

So the new project has now been created and of course,

this will default to the level two plan.

So when we modern our walls, we'll model them from level two down to level one

to model the wall. Let's go ahead and select the structure ribbon

and on the structure ribbon, we'll select wall

in the properties pallet in the type selector.

We're going to ensure that we're using generic 12 inch.

We will rename this style a bit later on

on the context driven. I'd like to use rectangle to construct my walls.

And I just want to make sure that the walls are

going to be modeled down to a depth of level one.

And I'm currently using the wall centerline.

So I'm just going to draw a rectangle at an

arbitrary size and this will obviously construct my walls like so

now that we've got those walls modeled, we can go up and select,

modify to release the wall command.

We're now gonna view these walls in 3D.

We'll first have to generate a new 3D view

to do this. Let's go up to the quick access toolbar and select default 3D view

You'll notice here that the analytical model is also displayed just for clarity.

We're gonna come down to the view control toolbar

and we'll hide the analytical model

and also on the view control toolbar, we'll use realistic to shade our walls.

So let's now edit this wall type and then we'll incorporate our Sham

for profile that we created in part one of this video.

So we'll go ahead and select one of the walls. It doesn't matter which one we select

in the properties, pad it in the type selector. We'll go ahead and select edit type.

The first thing I'd like to do here is amend the generic name.

What I want to do is use a reveal tool to cut

a champ for profile on the outside and inside face of the wall.

You'll notice that we can't modify the vertical structure.

The reason why these are grayed out is we need to

change our preview from a plan view to a vertical preview

to do this. We'll of course, need to enable the preview.
