Control the visibility of annotative objects

Control whether or not all of the annotation scale representations are visible when an annotative object is selected.

00:04

Annotative objects allow you to create a single

00:07

annotation object that can represent multiple scales.

00:11

When you select an annotative object that has more than one annotative scale,

00:16

the program may temporarily display all of

00:19

its scale representations in the current viewport.

00:23

For example,

00:25

in the exercise file on the model tab,

00:28

you can see some existing geometry as well as several annotation objects.

00:35

When you switch to layout one,

00:37

you see two viewpoints that show the same geometry and annotations.

00:43

One viewport is set to a scale of 1 to 2 and the other is set to a scale of 1 to 5.

00:49

So you immediately know that these annotative

00:52

objects have been assigned multiple scales,

00:57

double click in the viewport on the left to make it active

01:01

and then select an annotation

01:03

such as the dimension on the left.

01:07

When you do

01:08

it highlights in both viewpoints,

01:11

and you see all of its scale representations

01:17

press escape to deselect the dimension

01:20

and then switch back to the model tab

01:23

again when you select an annotation

01:26

such as the text below the object

01:29

it highlights

01:30

and you can see all of its scale representations

01:35

again, press escape

01:37

to deselect that object.

01:41

If you prefer not to see all of the scale representations,

01:45

when you select an annotative object,

01:47

you can toggle this feature off

01:51

to do so

01:52

with no other command active start typing

01:56

selection

01:58

Anno

01:58

display.

02:02

Thanks to the program's autocomplete feature. As soon as you see the selection and a

02:07

display system variable

02:08

in the autocomplete field, you can press enter to select it.

02:14

The program prompts you to enter a new value for selection Anno display

02:20

type zero. And press enter.

02:23

Now when you select an annotation object,

02:27

that object highlights,

02:29

but it now displays only at the current scale,

02:33

you no longer see all of the other scale representations.
