Formatting a schedule on a sheet

Format a schedules appearance on a sheet.

00:03

We'll use the drag controls here to adjust the column width

00:06

so that none of the rows spread over two lines.

00:09

So we'll make the from room column wider and then also the two room

00:13

and then finally the RT

00:14

family column

00:19

now that we have those wets sorted,

00:21

we can see there's quite a compact schedule just showing the doors for level two.

00:27

So now to change its appearance, we'll go back to the door schedule view

00:33

and just to reiterate,

00:34

we can still see all of the doors in this view.

00:37

And it's only when we're looking at the sheet

00:39

that the filter applies and we can only see the floor two doors.

00:44

So now to change its appearance,

00:46

we'll go over to the properties palette here and

00:48

we'll click the edit button next to appearance.

00:52

And here we have two panels. So the first one is for the graphics,

00:55

we can see that we have controls here for grid lines and outlines.

00:58

However, we'll leave those,

00:60

we will enable these stripe rows

01:03

and then we see we have the first row stripe color and we'll click the swatch here

01:07

and we'll choose the blue color just here

01:09

and then we'll use the luminant slider to make that a much lighter blue

01:14

and then we'll click, ok, to save that color.

01:17

And we'll also select the option to show stripe rows on sheets.

01:22

Now, looking at the tax panel,

01:24

we could turn off the title and headers, but we'll leave those on.

01:29

And for the title text, we'll change this to be the quarter inch aerial type

01:33

and for the body text the 3 30 seconds aerial type.

01:37

Now we'll click. Ok.

01:39

And we can see those changes updated in the view.

01:42

So the stripes and the text for the title.

01:46

If I swap back to the street view, we can see that's also reflected in here as well.

01:51

And we want to make some more changes

01:53

to the border lines here. So I'll swap back to the door schedule view

01:58

and I'll select column a first

02:01

and then from the modified schedules and

02:02

quantities ribbon here on the appearance panel,

02:05

we'll click the font tool

02:07

and we set the size of this to be 1/8 of an inch

02:12

and we'll also select the bold option

02:15

and then we'll click. Ok.

02:17

We can see now that that column is a slightly bigger and bold font

02:22

looking at the door size, width and thickness columns.

02:25

We want to group those together.

02:27

So I'll select door size and hold the mouse button

02:29

down and drag across the width and thickness columns.

02:33

Now, from the modified schedules and quantities, ribbon

02:36

we can go to the title and headers panel and we can click group,

02:40

we can see now that that's grouped. So we'll type in the title of dimensions.

02:50

And now I drag across all of the headers here

02:54

and then we'll go back up to the appearance panel here and click on the front button

02:59

and will enable a bold option for all of the headers

03:02

and then click, ok?

03:04

And now I'll drag across all of the columns here.

03:07

So start in a column a and holding the mouse button down.

03:10

We drag across all of the columns

03:12

and that will select the entire table.

03:14

And now from the ribbon here, we'll change the aligned horizontal

03:18

to be center

03:21

and then the aligned vertical

03:23

to be middle.

03:25

We can see now that that centered all of the data in the cells.

03:28

And once we have it selected,

03:30

I'll click the borders button on the appearance panel here.

03:33

We can see in the list of line styles that we have the gray lines and blue lines here. So

03:38

I'll select the gray lines

03:39

and then from the cell options, I'll click outside

03:42

and now I'll pick the blue lines and click the inside option.

03:46

We can see that in the preview just here.

03:49

So now I'll click. OK?

03:51

And although we can't see that change in this view,

03:54

I'll swap back to the sheet view

03:56

and we can see now that we have that gray outline

03:59

with the blue lines between the cells.

04:07

So now we're ready to place that schedule onto the other sheets

04:11

and to do this, I will select it on this sheet here

04:14

and then we'll go to the modify ribbon tab

04:17

and from the clipboard panel here, we'll click, copy the clipboard.

04:22

And now we'll go to the paste, drop down

04:25

and then select align to selected views

04:28

and that we pick the floor three and floor four door schedule sheets

04:33

and then click. Ok.

04:36

And now if I open the floor three door schedule sheet,

04:39

we can see that that's been placed onto that sheet in the same location

04:43

and zooming in

04:44

it only displays the doors for a floor three as

04:47

those are the ones that are visible on this sheet.

04:50

And I'll open up the floor four sheet as well and we can see it placed there too.

04:55

And again, that's displaying the doors that are visible for floor four in this view

05:00

and going back to the door schedule,

05:02

we can see that that's still just one door schedule that we need to manage.

05:06

So now that we have that door schedule placed on those sheets

05:09

that completes format in the schedule for printing.
