Using NC Program for turning code

Outputting an NC Code file for your CNC Machine.

What we cover in this video

  • Why use NC Program
  • Create an NC Program Group
  • Selecting operations
  • Selecting a Postprocessor
  • Rename NC Program Group
  • Post Processing the NC Program Group
  • Opening the program in the editor

Manufacture > Setup > Create NC Program nc program icon

Note: Using the NC Program dialog is the default way of creating your NC Code. Using the Post Process dialog is a legacy way of post processing and will be retired. For information on how to switch back to the legacy way of post processing, see NC Post Processing - Old vs. New.

NC Program can organize operations from a single setup or several setups into an NC Program group, for selected output. Create multiple groups for a variety of output situations. Use this for cases when single toolpath operations may need to be removed or added to the output code, depending on the capabilities of the NC machine.

Example: Eliminate a Facing or Parting operation from setups that have pre-machined blanks.

Posting the NC Code: Right click over the NC Program - Group item and select Post Process from the list.
