Not only do projects typically consist of

00:06

collections of multiple cross reference sheets.

00:09

The drawings often include numerous other files such as external references,

00:14

images and fonts.

00:16

When someone asks you to send them a drawing,

00:19

you need to make sure that you also include all those other files as well.

00:25

Rather than having to manually select all those other files,

00:28

you can use the E transmit tool to automatically package the drawing

00:33

and its associated files into a single folder or a zip file.

00:39

When you send the transmittal set, rather than just the drawing,

00:43

you help ensure that the recipient receives all the necessary files.

00:48

While you can use the transmit tool without using sheet sets.

00:52

When you use

00:53

transmit in the current drawing,

00:55

it only packages the files associated with that specific drawing.

01:00

You can manually add other drawings to the transmittal set.

01:04

But that process can also be quite time consuming. When working with many drawings.

01:10

Using E transmit with a sheet set enables you to

01:13

package multiple drawings and all their associated files with minimal effort

01:20

in the sheet set manager.

01:22

Click open,

01:24

navigate to the sheet set dash 05 folder and open the DS T file

01:31

to transmit all or part of a sheet set.

01:35

You should start the E transmit tool from within the sheet set manager

01:41

in order to use E transmit.

01:42

However, you must save or close any open sheet set drawings that have been edited.

01:49

Otherwise when you attempt to use E transmit the program will warn

01:53

you that you must first save the drawings that have been modified.

01:57

For example, double click the title sheet to open it

02:01

and then zoom in on the sheet list in the lower right,

02:06

in the sheet set manager, right, click the sheet set title.

02:10

And in the shortcut menu select E transmit,

02:14

you see an alert which indicates that

02:17

transmit cannot continue because one or more of

02:20

the drawings in the sheet set require saving

02:24

click. OK? To close that alert,

02:27

then you can either save the drawing or simply close it.

02:30

In

02:31

this case, simply close the title sheet drawing

02:34

and do not save any changes.

02:37

When creating transmittal sets using sheet sets,

02:41

you do not need to have any of the drawings open.

02:44

You simply need to open the sheet set.
