Communicate design issues using review tools

Use review tools to add annotations to viewpoints to communicate design concerns.

00:03

In Navisworks, you can easily communicate design issues with comments, markups, and tags.

00:12

You can draw directly in the 3D model using lines, shapes, or text to highlight areas of concern, such as clashes or design changes.

00:24

These markups are saved with viewpoints, making it easy to share your comments with other team members during reviews.

00:32

This enables everyone to see the highlighted issues and proposed solutions, streamlining collaboration and issue resolution.

00:42

In addition to text and shapes, you can also add tags,

00:46

which combine the features of markups, viewpoints, and comments into a single, easy to use review tool.

00:54

A tag places a marker, rather than text, in the Scene View.

00:60

Once the tag is placed, you can review the comments in the order in which they were added.

01:06

Tags enable you to see who added or edited a tag and also to search for comments.

01:13

In this example, a measurement has already been added.

01:18

To add some context to this measurement, from the Review tab, Markup panel, click Text.

01:27

In the Scene View, click the location where you want to place the text.

01:32

Enter your markup text, and then click OK.

01:37

The markup is added to the selected viewpoint.

01:42

Note that if you change the viewpoint, you will only see the markups in that view.

01:48

You can also use the drawing tools to further emphasize your markup.

01:54

From the Draw drop-down, select a drawing style, such as Cloud,

02:00

and then click in the viewpoint to begin drawing the arcs of the cloud.

02:05

Each time you click, a new point is added.

02:10

To terminate the cloud, right-click in the Scene View.

02:15

The Tags panel enables you to add and manage tags.

02:20

Click Add Tag, and then, in the Scene View, click the point or object that you want to tag.

02:29

In the Add Comments dialog, enter the text to associate with the tag,

02:34

and set the Status of the comment to New, Active, Approved, or Resolved.

02:42

In this case, select New.
