Moldflow Product details
Flexible solving
Use the Simulation Compute Manager (SCM) to solve analyses locally, on a server, or on the cloud.
Mold and inserts
Assign part insert, mold insert, and mold block materials, including part orthotropic inserts, from a pre-loaded database.
Automation using API
The Application Programming Interface (API) automation tools let you create custom scripts.
Thermoset materials
Simulate molding of both thermoplastic and thermoset (reactive) materials.
Valve gating
Include controlled and sequential valve gates within simulations, along with hot runner layouts.
Part and process optimization
Use automated design of experiments (DOE) and parametric analysis to locate the best process and design.
Advanced molding processes
Access complex molding processes including multi-barrel, overmolding, co-injection, gas-assisted IM, microcellular IM, and many more.
Variety of analysis sequences
In addition to typical flow, cool, and warp simulations, explore niche simulations such as birefringence, crystallinity, fiber orientation, and many more.
Comprehensive solver parameters
Improve simulation accuracy with a comprehensive set of customizable solver parameters.

CPU speed | 2 GHz or higher |
Main memory (RAM) | 8 GB or higher |
Virtual memory/swap space | 4 GB or higher |
Web browser | Internet Explorer 11.0 or later |
The graphic requirements listed here reflect the minimum required to obtain acceptable simulations.
512 MB DRAM or higher, OpenGL-capable graphics card and driver that supports hardware acceleration with OpenGL 3.2 or higher. Machines that do not support 3D hardware acceleration are not supported. Ensure you have installed the latest driver for your card. Please refer to the card manufacturer's website for drivers and instructions.
24-bit color setting at 1280 × 1024, or higher, screen resolution.
Note: Autodesk does not guarantee the use of any particular graphics card.
Autodesk will make every effort to work with card manufacturers to resolve any problems that may arise in the use of our software with a particular card. However, we cannot guarantee that all graphics-related issues can be fixed, as they may lie within the card manufacturer's drivers rather than Autodesk software.
The software makes extensive use of OpenGL and texture mapping, therefore any device offering OpenGL acceleration and texture memory will give improved performance.
Universal C Runtime (CRT) is a Windows OS component that is updated through the Windows update process. This component is required to enable you to modify result dialog entries in Moldflow products.
The help system requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.0 or later. All updated web browsers, including Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera are also supported.
The reports generated by Autodesk Moldflow products are optimized for use with Internet Explorer 11.0 and Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 or later.
The N and KN editions of Windows include all the essential features of an operating system except for Windows Media Player and related technologies. Autodesk Moldflow products rely on these media technologies to generate animations in reports correctly.
To ensure proper animation generation, please install the Windows Media Feature Pack and VP9 Video Extensions by following these steps:
Check your Windows version
Select Windows Start and search for System Information.
In the System Information window, locate OS Name.
If the OS Name includes "N" or "KN", you are using an N or KN version of Windows. If the OS Name does not include "N" or "KN", no further action is required.
Install the Media Feature Pack
For Windows version 1909 and later:
Windows 10 N & KN: Select Windows Start and search for Add an Optional Feature. Click Add a feature, then locate the Media Feature Pack in the list and install it.
Windows 11 N & KN: Select Windows Start and search for Optional features. Click View features, then locate the Media Feature Pack in the list and install it.
For Windows versions earlier than 1909:
Download the appropriate Media Feature Pack from Microsoft: Media Feature Pack.
Install VP9 Video Extensions
Download the VP9 Video Extensions from Microsoft Store: VP9 Video Extensions.
Restart your computer
Once the Media Feature Pack and VP9 Video Extensions are installed, restart your computer to ensure that all changes are applied.
