Evan is a Principal Research Scientist for the Autodesk Robotics Lab, tasked with exploring technologies, trends, and stories that will impact the future of automation. He is currently focused on prototyping and developing intuitive methods for controlling automated systems. As an example, he and his fellow researchers recently released Mimic, a free, open-source plugin for Autodesk Maya that provides an animation-based workflow for programming industrial robots. Evan received both his Bachelor and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and has been with Autodesk ever since.
