Description
With the dramatic changes in the design community, it's time to evaluate where building information modeling (BIM) has brought us and begin to examine the next generation of digital design and delivery. We'll cover how Gannett Fleming is working to attain the goal of developing true digital twins from an operational standpoint. This session will begin by comparing traditional CAD workflows and documentation to prepare a "digital deliver” standard that fits the requirements of a BIM project. Next, we'll evaluate the project platform and how it needs to be structured for the new designer/contractor/owner relationship while optimizing a true digital twin environment. Once we define the platform, we'll learn how to create and manage content standards that meet digital twin requirements. And we'll close by reviewing how the workflow on future projects should change to help us meet this goal. Learn how we took the first steps toward change and help your company get off on the right foot.
Key Learnings
- Learn how we replaced traditional CAD standards/workflows with documentation standards that align with today's technology.
- Learn where the project environment is best defined to smoothly manage data, from design through asset management.
- Explore how to implement modeling content standards to fulfill true lifecycle behavior in a digital-twin deliverable.
- Learn how to review and update workflows to meet the project challenges of delivering digital twin requirements that meet client needs.
