This session will be an introduction to a sustainable workflow initiative that uses the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce lead times from the design phase to construction by up to 60%. Building upon the success of A-SPEC (the existing automated restroom design cloud service) initially introduced during AU 2021, we proudly introduce "A-SPEC Plus,” our newest generation of design process that uses the latest AI algorithms. The inclusion of advanced AI in this upgrade allows for the creation of restroom layouts/plans that prioritize user comfort and spacious designs. In addition to the plan proposals created based on the new design logic, A-SPEC Plus significantly reduces lead time from design to construction with very little input by using the capabilities of Autodesk Construction Cloud and Autodesk Platform Services. Potential applications of this technology extend far beyond restroom design. It also offers a scalable automated design solution for various building spaces and interior designs.

In this presentation, we'll look at managing Autodesk Fabrication service and profiles to use the content flexibility that Revit provides. We will explore how to quickly set up a new profile with services designed to get the model started with minimal information. We will discuss what to include in the services, what should instead be added to the parts tab as needed, and how this expedites project startup and allows for quality control checking. We will go over what services should be included in a new profile and how that allows for "on the fly" changing of material and connection types in the model. We will explore a method of creating and tracking customized services and specifications within a profile. And we will discuss using "reload configuration" as a quality control check. All of this will lead to a faster, leaner, more productive workflow.

We all know the advantages of using Revit software for modeling and design, but when it comes to getting your MEP fabrication documents generated from the model, you better have a plan. Creating assembly drawings is a great tool, but too many of them and your model will come to a crawl. This lab will introduce you to Revit Connections, and walk you through how to place, manage, and customize steel connections within your structural models. You don’t have to be a steel detailer or structural engineer to benefit from this lab. We aim to help any Revit user explore the power of modeling Revit connections. We’ll also show you how these connections help with modeling other structural elements in Revit. This lab will focus on steel connection modeling within Revit. We won’t cover Advanced Steel or Shop Drawing Creation.
