Welcome to design collaboration, understanding the team space.
00:12
In this video, we will cover the team space,
00:15
review stakeholder participation options,
00:18
as well as understanding of the data structure.
00:21
Our focus will be on how the teams space
00:23
acts as our main hub for project collaboration needs.
00:27
First,
00:28
the teams space access or information exchange for
00:31
BIM data as well as package support documentation.
00:34
Secondly,
00:35
it is our discipline home which is established by
00:38
project admins in the team set up project administrators.
00:41
Typically the BIM project manager or managers will have full access to all teams.
00:47
And lastly when it comes to team model structures and model element breakdowns,
00:52
a single team may consist of multiple models,
00:55
as well as multiple buildings.
00:59
Now, let's have a look at the user interface.
01:02
It is primarily for content creators and discipline leads
01:06
that participate in sign collaboration,
01:08
but any stakeholder that needs or wants to participate may.
01:13
As with all the BIM 360 tools,
01:16
document management is the backbone.
01:18
When utilized with design collaboration, it becomes our
01:21
common data environment replacing traditional information exchanges.
01:25
Many of us who remember Revit
01:26
server and collaboration for
01:28
Revit -
01:29
these tools were the precursor to design collaboration.
01:33
Design collaboration dramatically streamlines the
01:36
traditional file sharing methods while maintaining
01:39
an audit trail of the overall design process.
01:44
Within our team hub,
01:46
we can visualize and interact with our latest data.
01:49
As you can see here, we are the structural team.
01:51
So if I select a mechanical I can be the mechanical team,
01:55
but we'll stick with the structural team.
01:57
And if we look at our structural team, we can click on our project model,
02:01
we can review our sets.
02:04
So our sets are exactly what
02:06
we have within
02:09
REvit. You can see there's an architectural model as well.
02:13
We can
02:14
turn that off quickly.
02:15
If we wanted to see
02:17
our structural model, we go there.
02:20
So we can interact and we can see for a content browser, what our sets are,
02:24
so we can see basically
02:25
everything that comes from
02:27
Revit.
02:30
Those published sets
02:31
that we were just viewing within the design
02:34
collaborate interface are exactly what we establish here.
02:37
So our published settings
02:38
that we choose here to establish
02:42
as our publish will come through
02:45
just like we were just as if we were to print them out as a PDF set.
02:53
So we can see here, we have,
02:55
you know, exactly what we looked at in Revit -
02:57
these are the published sets and these change as our project as our project evolves.
03:02
So just take another quick look at the symbology along the side here.
03:06
We can see this is the teams we looked at that,
03:09
you know we have the ability to turn off models.
03:11
So right now, we're only looking at our structural work in progress.
03:15
We have our phases which are established in Revit,
03:18
as well as our levels which are established in Revit.
03:21
And you see, as we click through these,
03:24
we can jump between them and we can turn them off and go back to overall view.
03:27
But it's a very nice way
03:28
of kind of seeing, you know how things are broken out in Revit.
03:33
We have our
03:34
content browser once again, just like we talked about our public settings.
03:38
If we're creating issues
03:41
in the design space,
03:43
we can have those here.
03:45
And if there are changes,
03:47
the change visualizer, we can do those here. So as we're doing our publishes,
03:52
we can look at the changes between those publishers.
03:56
Okay, so
03:57
we'll go ahead and close out of that.
03:59
Let's look up here in our timeline. You can see we have three teams in this project
04:04
and our timeline right now is 15 days. If we hit our mouse wheel,
04:08
we can zoom in on certain days or, you know, kind of narrow our timeline down.
04:13
So we can always kind of look in, you can see this one has three.
04:16
If we click on that,
04:18
it'll take us, you know, even closer.
04:20
So you can see, hey, that's within two minutes there. So
04:22
just an option to play around with how we can manipulate the time plan,
04:27
the timeline, and
04:29
differentiate between a publish
04:33
any package. You can see the different symbols. One is a square -
04:36
that is every time we publish a model from Revit, a square will appear on the timeline.
04:42
So
04:43
look at it from our structural team, we can see there's some publishers here,
04:48
there's three. If we zoomed in, it's keeping track of every time
04:51
we publish a model from
04:53
Revit. So we can see, you know, our version history as we're going through it.
04:56
So every one of these would be a version and a publish.
04:60
And if we zoom back out,
05:02
we can see the circle. These are actually publishes - I'm sorry, packages.
05:07
These are our packages that we create to share
05:09
with our other discipline team. So
05:11
hovering over that package,
05:13
you can see this is a structural 50% CD version two and it was shared on
05:21
Couple of other elements within here.
05:23
We can see our project status page. So if we click down here,
05:28
we can click this, we can see
05:30
not only our successful publishers for our designated team,
05:34
but the successful publishers for our disciplined partners that we've
05:37
incorporated into our team.
05:41
And if you don't feel as if you get enough emails,
05:45
you can click on the email notifications,
05:47
it's defaulted on.
05:48
I would recommend maybe turning that off, unless you really like email,
05:52
you turn it on.
05:53
So that's, you know, every time a package is shared,
05:55
you will get an email notification so it could come in handy.
05:60
And lastly, we have our filters over here. So if we have our filters,
06:05
you know, they're defaulted on. If we kind of expand our trees down here,
06:10
maybe zoom out on our timeline, you can see how these work we hit filter here
06:14
so we can turn off our theme, we can
06:17
see it disappears,
06:18
we can turn off other teams. So these are how the filters work
06:22
kind of play around those and get a feel and see, you know, if they provide
06:26
value to you.
06:30
And that concludes understanding the design collaboration teams space.
06:34
Thank you.
