In this video, we're going to get into the last editing method in the Profile Creation toolbar.
00:10
So again, we're going to navigate into the Profile Creation toolbar by selecting our Profile and selecting Geometry Editor.
00:16
Inside of here, we're going to go ahead and look at the profile grid view for our design profile.
00:24
So in order to populate that window, you're going to go over here to the Profile Grid View, you're going to select it.
00:29
And what you have in here is you have the information for all of your PVIs and any of the curves associated with those PVIs.
00:37
So we have stations, elevations, grades, and profile curve lengths, K values, and curve radiuses.
00:45
We can modify any of these to give us a better design profile and better mimic what we want to have going on inside of our drawing here.
00:54
So what we're going to do first is we're going to go ahead and modify some of the grades.
01:00
So I'm going to make the assumption in my Profile View window that I want that design profile to be coming off the road at -1.5%.
01:13
So I'm going to modify this to -1.5%,
01:15
and so when I update that, you're going to see this PVI dropped because I changed the grade out from here and into this PVI.
01:22
So moving on from there, I'm going to say that I don't want my road to be at a 0.1% slope.
01:27
I probably want to have it at a minimum of 1%.
01:30
So I'm going to go ahead and change this 0.1% to 1%.
01:33
So I'm going to hit "Enter" in there.
01:35
Then what I'm going to see happening here is I'm going to see a pretty big hump in here,
01:39
so maybe 1% is not the best choice, maybe I want to go ahead and go with a 0.8%.
01:46
So I'm going to go ahead and go 0.8% and hit "Enter".
01:49
It's getting a little closer, still a little high, but I'm ok with that.
01:53
So I'll go ahead and leave it there.
01:55
Maybe I want to go to a 0.5% knowing that I have got a depression here and the drainage will work out ok.
02:03
So I'll go ahead and leave at as 0.5% and move on to the next one.
02:15
so I'll go ahead and put -2% in there and see how that affects my vertical intersection right here.
02:23
And then from there, what you can see is I want to maintain this point here tying to the end point on my surface.
02:29
So I don't want to modify my grade coming out of my second to last PVI.
02:36
So if I wasn't happy with this and I wanted to modify this grade here, this 1.34%, I would go ahead and modify this grade right here.
02:44
So the next options that we have available to us, if you wanted to change some profile curve length information, which I do,
03:02
That looks a little bit better, it's bringing my profile down a little bit more.
03:06
Maybe you want to even go test out and see if 150 foot curve looks good.
03:10
And so I've now placed a 150 foot curve, we're getting even closer to mimicking the existing conditions.
03:15
I think I'm going to go ahead and leave it at 150 foot vertical curve.
