Label parcels

00:03

in this video

00:04

we're going to discuss labeling a parcel.

00:06

We're going to get into the detailed method for labeling

00:09

the parts of a parcel which includes

00:11

labeling a individual segment of a parcel.

00:14

Labeling multiple segments of a parcel.

00:16

At the same time changing the parcel area

00:19

labels and applying appropriate line and curve label styles

00:24

to get into the command for labeling a parcel.

00:27

What you need to do is navigate to the annotate tab in the ribbon bar and drop down,

00:32

add labels and choose parcels, add parcel labels

00:38

inside of and parcel labels. You have the choice of

00:41

labeling type which is single segment multiple segment,

00:45

replace multiple segments area and replace area.

00:48

We're going to discuss single segment multiple

00:50

segment and replace area in this video.

00:54

So what we're going to go ahead and do first is going to label a single segment.

00:58

We're gonna start

00:60

here at property 11

01:02

and I'm going to

01:04

choose my appropriate label style so we can choose a line label style which is a

01:10

general line label style or a parcel line label style specific label for a bearing,

01:17

only distance, only bearing over distance, just bearing and just distance.

01:22

So what we're gonna go ahead and do is we are going to choose

01:26

bearing over distance

01:28

and I'm gonna go ahead and choose an appropriate curve label style which

01:33

is either a general curve label style or a parcel curve label style.

01:37

So I'm gonna go with a parcel curve label style of delta over length and radius.

01:41

And the next thing that you have to do is you have to choose.

01:45

Had So I'm gonna go ahead and select add and then I'm going

01:48

to select the segments that I want to add parcel labels to.

01:51

So I'm gonna select this line,

01:54

This line, this curve, this curve, this line and this line.

01:59

So I've now effectively labeled the entire parcel of property 11.

02:04

Um if I want to go ahead and do that but faster I can choose to label multiple segments.

02:11

Which is what I'm gonna do for the remaining

02:13

four parcels that have not been labeled yet.

02:16

I'm gonna leave bearing over distance and delta over length and radius.

02:19

I'm gonna choose add and what

02:21

civil three D. Is asking me to do is to select parcel label.

02:25

So I'm gonna click the area label for the parcel I wanna label and

02:28

then it asks me if I want to go clockwise or counter clockwise.

02:31

I'm going to hit enter for clockwise and then I'm gonna move on to the next parcel

02:36

and hit enter and the next parcel and hit enter and the last parcel and hit enter.

02:41

The last thing that we're going to discuss is replacing area labels.

02:46

If you do not like the area label that you have currently

02:49

which we all have parcel name as the area label style.

02:53

If you wanted to change it to name area and

02:56

perimeter name square foot and acre parcel number standard.

03:01

And later we'll get into how to create these label styles but

03:05

say we want to change it to name area and perimeter.

03:07

We can go ahead and select that.

03:09

Make sure we have replaced area selected and choose add

03:13

Civil three D. is going to prompt us to select a parcel area

03:16

label and we're gonna go ahead and select 13

03:19

hit enter and it changes the label style to the name, area and perimeter.

03:24

Now, if I wanted to change it back to partial name, I would just choose partial name,

03:28

Select, add,

03:29

select the area label and hit enter.
