ERIC WING (VOICEOVER): Concrete footings
00:03
can be reinforced in a plethora of different ways.
00:07
Why?
00:07
Well, that's because footings support
00:09
a plethora of different items.
00:11
Also, there are different kinds of footings.
00:13
There are strip footings, isolated footings,
00:15
concrete pads, and grade beams, just to name a few.
00:19
What I'd like to do in this course
00:20
to stick to the more typical reinforcing configurations.
00:24
This allows you to explore how you would apply reinforcing
00:26
to footings in whatever specific situation you find yourself in.
00:30
First, we'll start off with configuring bends.
00:33
What happens is, when we manually place reinforcing,
00:36
we can configure the bends to be a calculation
00:38
of the actual rebar itself.
00:40
Then we're going to actually physically go in and add
00:42
reinforcing to a footing.
00:44
Again, there's a lot of different ways we can do this.
00:46
So in this video, we're going to stick to the basics.
00:49
And then we're going to configure the graphics.
00:51
The default way in which Revit shows reinforcing
00:53
isn't really the way I show reinforcing
00:56
or the way I think most people show reinforcing.
00:58
In the last video, we're going to look
00:60
at configuring the graphics to make the reinforcing look
01:02
the way you want it to look.
01:03
Now, let's jump in and add some rebar to some footings.
