Course overview

In this course, you are introduced to blueprint reading, CAM setup, machine safety and operation and inspection. This course focuses on the steps throughout the process of digital manufacturing to lay a foundation to build upon. You apply this knowledge and review a blueprint for a CAD model for manufacture, setup digital manufacturing, prepare a vertical CNC mill for operation, machine and inspect a part.

After completing this course, you’ll be able to:

• Identify parts of a blueprint
• Identify GD&T symbols and Datums
• Create a CAM setup for manufacturing
• Understand Machine Safety best practices
• Set up a VMC for use including indicating a vise and setting up tooling
• Operate a CNC mill
• Inspect a machined part
