Step-by-step Guide
Tracing tools are useful for problems in the network, such as a reported water quality issue, because you can trace the problem back to its source. Tracing tools can only be used with results.
- From the Model Group window, drag the BridgeCon run and drop it into the workspace to open the GeoPlan.

- In the toolbar, click Trace and select links upstream.

- In the GeoPlan, select an object, such as a hydrant, in the network.
- Observe the entire flow path upstream of the hydrant highlighted in red, leading to its source at the reservoir.
- In the GeoPlan, select other hydrants and review how the upstream trace changes.

- To trace water flowing downstream of the selected hydrant, in the toolbar, click Trace and select links downstream.

- In the GeoPlan, click any object in the network, such as an object near the reservoir.
- Select an object farther from the reservoir.
- Review how the trace changes.
