in this video you'll learn how to create and manage sheet issues and revisions.
00:11
You'll also see how to create revision clouds
00:14
and control which revision they belong to.
00:25
To manage sheet issues and revisions switch to the view tab.
00:30
Then in the sheet composition panel click revisions.
00:35
This opens the sheet issues revisions dialogue.
00:40
You can add rows to this table
00:43
to create issues or revisions.
00:47
Revisions are typically tied to clouds and tags and issues are not
00:52
but you can use the functionality
00:55
to really do whatever you want and use the sheet issues and
00:59
revisions in a way that meets the needs of your project.
01:04
By default there is one row in the table
01:08
for each row
01:09
you can control the numbering.
01:12
The options are alpha numeric
01:14
numeric and none.
01:17
I'll select numeric
01:19
and also be aware that you can customize the numbering
01:24
in the customized numbering area,
01:26
click the numbering button to open a dialogue
01:30
where you can create a customized sequence.
01:34
For example in this exercise there are two
01:37
and if I select alpha numeric
01:39
I can then click edit numbering sequence
01:42
to open a dialogue where we can customize the sequence
01:47
and here you can see
01:49
the available options and you can create a new sequence and customize it as needed.
01:57
I'll click OK to close each of these dialogues
02:01
and then we'll continue on here with our
02:05
issue.
02:06
So the numbering is set to numeric and then you
02:09
can specify the date and give it a description.
02:14
For example
02:15
I'll enter
02:17
issued for construction
02:24
and then once the the revision or issue
02:28
has actually been issued you can select issued
02:31
but for now I'm going to leave that de selected
02:34
and then you can specify who it's issued to and who it's issued by.
02:39
And then in the show column you can choose cloud and tag, tag or none.
02:46
So I'm gonna select none for this example
02:49
and then I'm going to add another row
02:52
And I'm gonna leave the numbering the same and for the description,
02:57
I'm going to call it revision one
03:02
and then under show I'm gonna leave it set to cloud and tag
03:07
additionally be aware that you can control the numbering method.
03:13
And so right here we're this is the numbering sequence here in this column but to the
03:18
right there is a numbering method here and this
03:21
can either be per project or per sheet.
03:25
And so when we have it set to per project then we're going
03:29
to be using the revision number that appears here in this dialogue.
03:34
If we change it to per sheet then it's going to
03:37
be based on the revisions that appear on the sheet.
03:41
So there could be there maybe you have
03:51
Then those are going to be numbered based on
03:54
the order that they are placed on the sheet.
03:57
Alright,
03:58
You can also move revisions up and down. So after they are created
04:03
you can move them up, you can move them down,
04:06
you can even merge revisions,
04:08
you can merge it with the revision above or merge it with the revision below
04:13
depending on how many you have and what you have selected here
04:17
in the table.
04:19
I'm going to click OK
04:22
to close the dialog
04:24
and then I'm going to open the ground floor overall
04:27
view
04:28
and I'm simply going to place a revision cloud
04:32
and I can do that by switching to the annotate tab and in the detail panel
04:38
click revision cloud.
04:41
And with this tool active you can use any of the
04:45
options in the draw gallery to sketch a revision cloud.
04:50
So I'll simply leave rectangle selected and then before I create a revision cloud,
04:57
I always want to check the revision here in the properties palette,
05:01
this is the revision that the cloud is going to be assigned to.
05:06
So I'm gonna select revision one
05:09
and then I'm simply going to sketch a rectangle
05:12
and notice that as I sketch the rectangle.
05:14
The cloud is created in a rectangular method based on what I sketched.
05:22
And then I'll click finish edit mode
05:25
and I'm going to go ahead and tag that.
05:27
So I'm gonna activate the tag by category tool
05:30
and I'll deselect leader and then I will place
05:35
the revision cloud tag, then I'll click modify to end the command.
05:40
Now when I go back to the sheet that the view is placed on
05:45
and I zoom in
05:47
to the revision schedule in the title block, you can see that revision one appears
05:54
and you can see the cloud and tag where we placed it.
05:59
So when you place a revision cloud and it's assigned to
06:02
a revision then that revision will appear in the title block.
06:07
If you want additional issues to appear
06:11
then you can look in the properties palette
06:13
and scroll down to the bottom to the revisions on sheet parameter
06:18
and click edit.
06:20
And this opens the revisions on sheet dialog. And now we can select to show
06:27
the first issue that we created which is issued for construction and then click OK.
06:34
And now both of those appear in our revisions schedule.
06:40
So once again a lot of flexibility there with
06:42
how you choose to create sheet issues and revisions.
06:48
Let's go back to the sheet issues revisions dialogue
06:52
and then we're going to issue one of these
06:56
by simply clicking the checkbox in the issued column.
06:60
And when we do
07:01
be aware that all of the information becomes
07:05
dim and it's no longer available to be adjusted
07:10
also we can no longer merge the any revision we
07:15
have with a issue or revision that has been issued.
07:20
So as you can see here for sequence two,
07:23
we can no longer merge it with sequence one because that has been issued already.
07:28
So you need to be aware of that.
07:31
I'll click OK to close the dialog and once again to access the
07:36
dialogue to control which issues or revisions appear in the title block.
07:41
You need to look at the instance, properties for the sheet,
07:45
look for revisions on sheet and then click.
07:48
Edit.
07:49
And that's where you can control which revisions
07:53
or issues to show in your title block.
00:05
in this video you'll learn how to create and manage sheet issues and revisions.
