The ability to develop and deliver a Building Information Model (BIM) of the Civil Structures design.
Maturity level 1: Introduction to Bridge Design
Design firms now have a way to work more collaboratively on bridge designs to meet the urgent need for bridge design and maintenance. Bringing together five of our design tools – InfraWorks, Civil 3D, Revit, Structural Bridge Design and Inventor – the bridge design workflow connects the road design, bridge design, fabrication, and documentations team into one project model.
Using this solution, your teams learn model authoring for concept design and detailed design to determine the best route and location for a bridge using InfraWorks and Civil 3D. During the detailed design phase, the bridge designer and CAD technician take advantage of Inventor to build custom bridge parts. Next the team learns how to do quantification and scheduling in Revit and Civil 3D to ensure the bridge stays within the project budget. The structural engineers learn how to analyze the bridge and document both the bridge and road designs.
Maturity levels 2-5: Get help with your plan
Maturity level 2: Standardize Software deployments, template deployments, and integration of firm drawing standards into BIM visual styles. Also introducing basic component creation.
Maturity level 3: Civil structures model authoring maturity has reached a level of industry-wide achievable practice with solid and repeatable processes, incorporating optimized data sets and utilizing intelligent components.
Maturity level 4: Model authoring with advanced components and integrations where automation and design optimization is leveraged at key points in the design process with parametric modelling driving design changes.
Maturity level 5: BIM model development is mostly automated and driven by outcome-based design framework, with analysis integral to design development in the BIM environment. Predictive design drives decision-making and development based on data aggregated from previous projects.
