Transcript
00:03
To get started. Let's create a drawing file from the new button in the start tab
00:08
and accept the default
00:10
ACAD dot DWT template.
00:13
Before we get into the various ways we can create a new sheet set.
00:16
Let's look at the ways you can get to the new sheet set wizard.
00:20
Probably the easiest way is from the application menu.
00:23
Expand that menu, then expand the new item.
00:27
You'll see an option to create a new sheet set. Click on that entry,
00:31
you'll immediately see the create sheet set wizard.
00:34
We're going to be looking at it deeper. So click cancel on it this time and then yes,
00:38
we'll get back to it though.
00:40
You can also access the wizard directly from the sheet set manager palette,
00:45
open the view tab on the ribbon
00:47
and within the pallets panel, you'll find the icon for sheet set manager.
00:51
Let's click on that.
00:53
The sheet set manager palette will be displayed,
00:55
expand the open pull down menu.
00:58
The new sheet set item is near the bottom.
01:00
I'll click on it. Now
01:02
again, you get the wizard
01:04
and again, I'll close it with cancel and then yes,
01:07
I'll also close the sheet set manager palette by clicking on the X in the corner.
01:12
You can also get to the create a new sheet set wizard from the start tab,
01:16
click on the start tab, then click on the down arrow next to the new box to expand it
01:22
at the bottom. You'll find create sheet set.
01:25
Click on that and again, the create sheet set wizard will be displayed.
01:29
Don't dismiss it this time though as we're now ready to start working in it.
01:33
Remember this is a wizard so it will guide
01:36
you through the steps to make your new sheet set
01:38
on the left are the steps for the current type being made.
01:42
The blue arrow indicates what step you're on
01:44
toward the middle. You'll see some creation options
01:47
below those a description describing the selected type
01:51
and
01:52
in the lower right corner are the next back and cancel buttons.
01:56
We'll start with the first option,
01:58
creating a new sheet set from an example.
02:00
It should be the current selection.
02:02
So we'll click on next.
02:04
The next step of the wizard will display
02:06
giving you two options.
02:07
The first is a list of Autocad supplied example sets along with a blank new one.
02:13
The other option is to navigate to a folder to find your example file.
02:17
By default, it displays the path to the example DST files shown above it.
02:23
You can use this option to navigate to a project or template projects.
02:27
Often
02:28
c ad managers have a folder full of different types of DST.
02:32
And they'll use this method to choose one as their example file.
02:35
But for our example, we're going to start entirely from scratch. So
02:39
let's go back to the first option,
02:41
I'd highlight new sheet set at the bottom of the list.
02:44
Click on next to move on to the next step.
02:48
The first thing here is to give it a name.
02:50
I'll use my project's convention of M 31 plus example,
02:54
feel free to use whatever you like.
02:56
Of course, though in the real world,
02:58
the name would be very important and should make sure to conform to your published C
03:02
ad standards.
03:04
Moving on,
03:05
you can also supply a description if you like. I'll just type in example sheet set
03:09
below. That is an important box.
03:11
This is where you'll choose the location of your DST file.
03:15
Often this is the root CD folder of a project.
03:18
Finally,
03:19
you can check a box to create a folder hierarchy based on the subsets in the example,
03:24
but we're starting from scratch. So we don't need that.
03:27
And
03:28
there's a sheet set properties button.
03:33
Click on next to get to the final page.
03:36
As you see, it's a confirmation page.
03:38
It's your last chance to go back and make any changes
03:41
if you're happy with it. And I am click finish,
03:44
the wizard will close
03:46
and the sheet set manager palette will appear with your new empty sheet set open
