00:04

I zoom out and looking around to the other side of the tower,

00:08

we can see we have a curtain wall here that doesn't have any mullions placed.

00:13

So I'll select this curtain wall and we can see it's the exterior glazing type.

00:18

So I choose edit type from the properties palette here

00:21

and reviewing its type properties.

00:23

We can see that no millions have been specified within the properties.

00:27

So we choose council to close this without making any changes.

00:31

So now we can apply the mullions to the curtain wall separately

00:34

and to do this, we'll go to the architecture ribbon tab

00:37

and from the build panel, we'll choose the mullion tour

00:42

looking at the type selector.

00:43

We can see we currently have the 2.5 by five inch rectangular

00:46

Marion specified.

00:48

If we click the type selector,

00:49

we can see we have options for different shapes such as circular malls and can corner

00:54

malls

00:54

and also different sizes in the rectangular muller.

00:58

We'll create a new one. So let's stay with the 2.5 by five inch rectangular

01:02

and we'll click edit type to access its type properties

01:06

will then choose duplicate to create a new one

01:09

and we'll name this eight

01:11

inch by 10 inch rectangular

01:14

and click. OK?

01:15

To create that new mullion type

01:19

and looking at the tight parameters

01:21

will change the thickness to be 10 inches

01:24

and then a little further down,

01:25

we'll change the width on side one and side 2 to 4 inches each

01:30

to give us the total width of eight inches.

01:34

So then we'll click, OK to save this new mullion type

01:38

and looking at the placement options on the ribbon here,

01:41

we can see we have grid line,

01:43

grid line segment and all grid lines available. So

01:46

we'll leave this on the grid line

01:48

looking at the curtain wall. We'll come and click at the base of the curtain wall.

01:53

And then we can see we have those Mullins applied on

01:55

that lower edge of the curtain wall all the way across.

01:59

So we'll click the horizontal grid lines going up the curtain wall.

02:03

And each time we click, we can see the mullions being placed along those grid lines.

02:08

I'll also click the two vertical edges as well to place the larger

02:11

malls.

02:12

And now we'll go back to the type selector

02:15

and we'll choose the 2.5 by five inch rectangular

02:18

Maia.

02:20

And now on the placement options, we'll change it to be all grid lines.

02:26

So now as I put my cursor on one of the grid lines,

02:29

we can see that it highlights all of the

02:31

grid lines that don't currently have mullions on them.

02:34

And I'll just click

02:36

and it will place this 2.5 by five inch mullion

02:38

along all of the remaining grid lines.

02:41

So I choose, modify to finish placing the

02:44

malls

02:45

zooming in.

02:46

We can see that the vertical mullions here, the smaller malls

02:49

are continuing through the larger horizontal mullions.

02:53

And that's not really given us the joint that we would like.

02:56

So we can control this.

02:58

I'll zoom in a little closer and we can do this on a mall by mullion basis. So

03:02

let's click this mullion.

03:04

And we can see we have two symbols here to toggle either end of the mall joint.

03:08

And if I click on this one,

03:10

you can see it now swaps to be continuous

03:12

with the vertical mall and stopping.

03:16

Now we could go through and change this on every individual mullion,

03:19

but it would be quite time consuming

03:21

and we can control it in the type properties of the curtain wall.

03:25

So

03:26

I'll select the curtain wall itself.

03:29

And now from the top of the properties pallet, we'll choose edit type

03:33

and looking in the type parameters here.

03:35

We can see we have a parameter for joint condition

03:38

and it's currently set to not defined.

03:40

So we'll click this

03:41

and from the list,

03:42

we'll choose the bottom option of border and horizontal grid continuous

03:49

and then we'll click OK.

03:50

And straight away, we can see now that all of the horizontal mullions

03:54

have got the continuous join on them

03:57

with the smaller vertical mullions stopping either side of this

04:00

and that finishes placing the Mullins onto this particular car wall.
