00:03
And we're looking at the conference area ceiling plan,
00:07
which is where we will place the lights
00:10
to place a light fitting in.
00:11
The model will go to the architecture ribbon tab from the build panel,
00:15
which is the placer component tool.
00:19
Looking at the type selector here,
00:20
we can see that we have various components with this
00:23
including some planting and an elevator here but no actual light fittings.
00:29
So first we'll need to load those light fitting
00:31
families into the project for us to use.
00:33
So I'll choose modify to cancel the placer component tool
00:36
and then to load the light fittings, we'll go to the insert ribbon tab
00:41
and from the load from library panel
00:43
would click load Autodesk family.
00:45
This will open up the cloud based Autodesk content browser.
00:50
And before we look for families, we just need to check the locale settings
00:53
to ensure the region is set to United States Imperial
00:58
looking at the browse folders. On the left hand side,
01:00
we'll click on the lighting folder
01:03
and then from the sub folders, we'll choose the architectural internal folder.
01:10
Now we can see we have some light fittings in the results panel here,
01:13
scrolling down,
01:14
we'll choose the pendant
01:15
lamp, arc glass led
01:18
and scrolling down to the bottom.
01:20
We choose the troo
01:21
light two by four parabolic
01:24
or then click load. And this will be downloaded into our project for us to use.
01:30
So now that we have those loaded, we'll go back to the architecture ribbon tab
01:34
and from the build panel, we'll click on the closer component tool
01:38
straight away in the type selector. We can see we have the troo
01:41
like two by four parabolic as one of the ones that we downloaded.
01:46
If I click on the type selector here,
01:47
we'll look at the search bar and we'll type in lamp.
01:50
And then we can see we also have dependent lamp and the other truffle lamps too
01:55
to replace the truffle
01:56
light two by 44 lamp 1 20 volt type.
02:00
And now as I move my cursor over the window, we can see we have the symbol that
02:04
shows we need to place it into a ceiling as it's a hosted family.
02:09
So as we go over the ceiling here, we can see the preview of the light.
02:14
We can also see that we're not actually getting any object snaps for the grid. So
02:18
we'll just have to place this into the ceiling
02:22
and then would align it into the correct place afterwards. So
02:25
we'll click modify to finish placing the lights
02:29
and we'll align this to line up with the ceiling grid.
02:31
So from the modify ribbon tab on the modify panel, we'll choose the align tool
02:37
and then we'll click the upper horizontal grid line as the reference and
02:41
then click the top of the light fit in to align to that.
02:46
Now we'll click the vertical grid on the left side
02:49
and then the left side of the light fit in
02:51
to align that into its position.
02:56
So now that's aligned to the ceiling grid,
02:58
we'll choose modify to finish the aligned tool
03:01
and we'll array the light fitting across the
03:03
conference room to create the light and layout.
03:06
So first we'll select the light fit in
03:08
and then from the modified lighting fixtures, ribbon on the modify panel here,
03:12
we'll choose the array to
03:15
now looking at the options bar, we can see it's set to a linear array.
03:20
We'll uncheck the group and associate option
03:23
and we'll change the number from 2 to 3.
03:27
And we can see we have the move to option set to second.
03:32
So now we can go down into the view and we'll click
03:34
on the vertical grid line on the left for the start point
03:38
and then we'll leave a gap of one tile here.
03:40
So we move across to the second and then click
03:43
and then we'll get the three light fittings rayed across the room.
03:47
So now we'll do this in the opposite direction. So
03:50
we'll select these light fittings
03:53
and I'll just use the control key to multiple, select them
03:56
and then we'll go back to the modified tab and choose the arrow tool once more.
04:02
And they're looking at the options bar,
04:04
we need to set the number to three again.
04:07
And this time we'll change the move two option from second to last.
04:14
Now we're ready to array these.
04:16
So we'll use the lower grid line but the light fit in here as the base point.
04:20
So we'll click here
04:23
and now we'll go to the last
04:25
grid line. So moving down to the bottom of the room
04:28
and we'll click on this grid line here to be the last point
04:32
so that we then get the three light fittings erode between those two grid lines.
04:37
You can see we have one that's outside of the room due to the shape of the room here.
04:41
So I'll select this one
04:43
and then from the modify ribbon tab, we'll just click delete to get rid of it.
