Creating and modifying an interior elevation

Create an interior elevation and edit its view properties.

00:04

We're looking at a 3d view of the building

00:06

that we need to create the interior elevation for

00:10

looking at the project browser.

00:11

I can see that we have a group for interior elevation views

00:15

and we also have a bathroom elevation one view that's already been created.

00:20

So I'll open this for you

00:24

and we can see that this is a completed elevation of one of the bathroom walls

00:29

to help us understand the location of this bathroom within the building.

00:32

I'll go back to the project browser

00:35

and right, click on the bathroom elevation one view

00:38

and from the menu here, we can click find referring views.

00:43

Now in the go to view settings, we can see we have the second floor plan view selected.

00:47

So I'll click open view

00:51

and now we can see we have the second floor plan view open. And if we zoom in here,

00:56

we can see the elevation marker and bathroom elevation one is selected,

01:00

showing us the right hand wall of the bathroom.

01:04

Now we need to create an elevation showing the

01:06

bottom wall of the bathroom here with the sink,

01:08

toilet and bath.

01:10

And if I select the elevation marker here.

01:12

We can see that we have the option to enable the arrows for the other directions

01:17

and we'll select the option here.

01:19

So we'll show arrow at the bottom of the view towards the bottom wall here.

01:24

And we can see now that that's created elevation one B in the project browser. So

01:28

let's right, click and choose, rename

01:31

and we'll name this bathroom elevation too.

01:41

So we have that renamed. Let's open up that view

01:46

and we can see here that we have that bathroom elevation,

01:48

but it doesn't cover the entire bathroom.

01:50

Actually,

01:51

we can see the sink is missing.

01:53

So I'll swap back to the second floor plan

01:56

and then select the pointer for this elevation view

01:59

and we can see the cut plane here.

02:01

It stretches across to the wall by the path, but it stops short on the other side.

02:05

If we zoom out a little,

02:06

we can see that it lines up with the external

02:09

wall that's a bit further on in the building.

02:13

So let's use the drag controls on the cut line here

02:16

and we'll drag that to the wall on the left here.

02:19

And now we'll swap back to the bathroom elevation view.

02:23

We can see now that that's covering the entire of the back wall

02:26

and it has the sink in the mirror as we need it to.

02:30

So whilst we have the crop region selected,

02:31

we also want to adjust the height of the view.

02:35

So we used to drag control at the bottom here,

02:37

it just dragged us closer to the floor

02:41

and then

02:42

looking at the top, we have a shadow across here.

02:44

So we use the top drag control just to reduce it down and to clear that shadow

02:50

so that we have that view set up. We're ready to add some notes and tags to the view

02:56

and we'll start by tagging the objects that we have in the view.

02:58

So the mirror sink, toilet and bath.

03:01

So if we select these,

03:02

so I'll click on the mirror and then hold it down the control key,

03:05

we can pick the other objects.

03:09

And now we'll go to the annotate ribbon tab

03:12

and from the tag panel here, we'll click on the tag or not tagged at all

03:19

in here, we can see we have a list of categories that we have tags available for

03:24

and we'll select the multi category tags

03:26

and we can see that that's gonna use the object description tag family.

03:31

So looking above,

03:32

we can see it's set to tag only selected objects in the current view.

03:37

So we'll click. OK.

03:39

And we can see now that those tags have

03:40

been applied to the objects that we had selected.

03:44

Now we want to reposition some of these tags. So I'll select the tag by the WC here.

03:49

And then using its drag control, we can just drag this up into a better location.

03:55

And now the one for the sink here, we can see that's slightly off center. So

03:58

we'll select it and drag it to the above the sink just in the middle here.
