CAM 2.5 and 3 axis milling

Learn to set up, program, and validate 2.5 and 3 axis toolpaths in Fusion for vertical CNC mills. Module resources are available in metric and imperial units.

Module overview

Create a CAM setup for 2.5 and 3-axis CNC milling. The setup includes details about the stock, coordinate system location, and reference at the physical machine. You'll also grasp digital tooling setup and creating toolpaths for rough and finish machining a part. After generating toolpaths, the crucial step is simulation for validation before creating a setup sheet and exporting machine-readable code.

After completing this module, you’ll be able to:

  • Create a CAM setup for CNC Milling.
  • Create a tool library.
  • Create toolpaths for 2.5 and 3 axis motion.
  • Validate toolpaths with simulation.
  • Create documentation and NC code.
