Edit Clashing Elements in Revit – Practice Exercise

Task 1: Review Clash Issue Information on Docs

  1. Using the Google Chrome window, log on to the Docs project. 
  2. From the left navigation, click Issues
  3. Select the first duct clash issue you want to resolve; the information about that issue is displayed. 
  4. Make a note of the change that needs to be made in the duct, as shown below:

Task 2: Edit Clashing Duct in Revit 

  1. Return to the Revit window. 
  2. In the Section Box view, click on the duct if it is not already selected. 
  3. Make the requested change in the selected duct. 
  4. Adjust the section box to ensure the clash is resolved, as shown below:



  5. Close the section view and the Navisworks SwitchBack view. 
  6. Repeat the process to edit the ducts in the other clash issues. 
  7. Save the Mechanical model. 
  8. Upload the revised version of the model to the Docs project. 

Task 3: Update the Issue Status 

  1. In the Web browser, return to the Issues tool. 
  2. Click the first clash issue you resolved. 
  3. Scroll down in the Issues window. 
  4. In the Comments field, add a comment and then click Submit, as shown below: 



  5. Scroll to the top in the Issues window and change the status of the issue to In Review, as shown below: 



  6. Repeat this process for the remaining issues you resolved in Revit.
