Utilize the demand reallocation function.
In InfoWater Pro, the Skeletonizer app reduces the number of elements in a model. The program automatically reallocates demand, but it is useful to understand the reallocation process and available methods.
During network trimming, dead-end pipes are trimmed and demand is reallocated to upstream nodes.
Limited number of demand categories can be combined—if software reaches limit, model starts truncating demand.
In most cases, does not happen—however, if using large number of demand categories, may help to export junctions as meter layer, then reallocate using Allocator tool.
When performing network reduction, five methods available for reallocating demands, from all dissolved interior junction nodes to respective end nodes:
Can be selected in the Network Skeletonization Options dialog, in the Demand Distribution Method drop-down.
Most users choose Distance Weighted or Nearest Junction methods.
