We'll talk about sharing tool pallets in a network environment.
00:09
If we browse out to the default location of where tool pallets are in autocad,
00:15
this is located on the C drive.
00:18
This is important
00:20
and I'll show why
00:22
here in a minute
00:23
first, we want to go into options
00:28
and on the files tab
00:31
down where the tool pallet file location is.
00:35
This is where the default location is for tool pallets on a user C drive.
00:41
If you want to create a network drive
00:45
that has all of this,
00:47
you can change the search path to a network environment.
00:52
For example,
00:53
you drive C
00:54
ad standards tool pallets.
00:57
However, if you wanna maintain the ones that come with autocad out of the box,
01:03
you can add a path.
01:05
The thing to keep in mind for this though
01:08
is that
01:09
you want to make sure that your network path
01:13
gets placed above the local path
01:17
so that the customized tool pallets come in
01:22
from the network and all changes will come in with them.
01:27
So after adding the paths,
01:29
the thing to remember
01:33
is that you will
01:35
copy
01:37
your A TC file
01:39
and your pallets folder.
01:42
And as you can see
01:43
each one of these at TC files matches up with
01:48
a pallet name.
01:51
If this is to be shared in a network environment,
01:54
it should be copied out to the network
01:57
and then these files should be set to read only
02:01
so that only the C ad manager or person in charge
02:06
can modify them.
