Upload, attach, and link documents in Tandem

Upload and attach document files to a facility, and assign a document to a specific asset.

00:04

In Autodesk Tandem, you can upload and attach a variety of file types to a facility.

00:09

An attached file can then be assigned to a specific asset with an associated link parameter.

00:16

From the Facilities page, with the desired facility open, click Docs.

00:22

On the Documents panel, click Add Documents.

00:26

In the Add Link dialog, users can either direct-upload to Tandem under the File Upload tab,

00:33

or they can upload from Autodesk Docs.

00:36

For direct file-upload, you can simply drag and drop the document.

00:42

If you are uploading from Autodesk Docs, navigate to the desired folder in Docs,

00:47

and then select one or multiple documents to upload.

00:51

Once the files are selected click Add.

00:54

The files are added to the library of documents for the facility,

00:58

where they appear on the Documents panel.

01:01

Click the down arrow next to the file to preview that document.

01:06

Documents can be linked to an asset via the Properties panel.

01:10

In order for this to be possible, the classification of the element must have a link parameter associated.

01:17

Once a document is added to the facility, it can be assigned to a specific asset,

01:22

provided the asset has a link parameter associated with it.

01:27

Open the Properties panel for the asset you want to assign the document to, and then click Add document.

01:33

In the Add Link dialog, select the desired document.

01:38

Click Add.

01:40

The assigned PDF now appears as a link in the Properties panel.

01:45

Click the link to open the document in a separate browser tab.

01:49

If the document is versioned in Docs, then it can be updated in Tandem as well.

01:55

However, if the file is deleted in Docs, the latest version of that document will persist inside of Tandem.

02:03

To delete an attached document, in the Documents panel,

02:07

click the three dots next to the file name, and then select Delete.
