Download methods

From the Products and Services section of your Autodesk account, choose the download method that fits your product and installation. In the product tile, you can see the method currently selected and view all available methods. For some products and platforms, Download is the only option.

Download methods:

• Install method: Designed to install an Autodesk product on a single computer, this option downloads and installs in one continuous step. By default, it also installs the latest product updates unless you opt out. 
  
  
• Download method: Download method is a two-step option for installing any product release on single or multiple computers. First it downloads the files, then you run the installer. You can wait between the download and the install. Like Install, Download installs the latest product updates by default. 
  
  
• Direct download method: Provides a single self-extracting executable that you can install offline. To use this option: 
  1. From the All Products and Services page, click a product.
  2. On the product details page, select the Direct Download method.
      
• Custom install method: Use the Custom Install feature under Products and Services in your Autodesk account. With Custom Install, you pick products and set installation settings and customizations in your Autodesk account before downloading. The resulting executable can install products on single computers or used to create custom deployments for multiple computers. For details, see Custom install from Autodesk account.
