Solving integrity issues using the DWG Migration app for Docs

Check for and fix data integrity issues, and then upload data to Autodesk Construction Cloud using DWG Migration for Docs.

Within the Collaboration for Civil 3D workflow,

the DWG Migration for Docs tool facilitates and provides guidance throughout the data migration process.

The tool helps you to identify and address any data integrity issues,

and then completes the upload into ACC Docs using Desktop Connector functionality.

Some of the issues addressed by DWG Migration include missing references, long paths, unsupported file types,

circular references, and duplicate file names.

The tool also supports uploading customized data sets with more flexibility.

You can download DWG Migration for Docs from the Autodesk App Store.

Once it is installed, the app is launched independently.

Within DWG Migration for Docs, you can browse to a folder to find your files locally and then select a target location in Docs.

You can also choose files to exclude from the migration process.

To see this in action, click Browse folder, select the local folder containing the files that you want to upload.

Click Upload.

Then, click Browse to find the Target Autodesk Docs location.

With the Account and Project selected, select the destination Project Files folder, and then click Select.

In the Data Exclusions section, add any files you wish to exclude, and under Data Selection, you can review the files selected for upload.

The application will now check the reference files.

Once the check is complete, the application displays any issues found.

In this example, there are 11 missing references, and 1 related data issue.

In the Status column, hover over the icon to see a Needs resolution status.

In the View Details column, click the magnifying glass to view the affected files.

From here, you can resolve data issues as needed.

Once complete, click Back to Issues List, then click Next to proceed with the import.

Finally, click Start Uploading.

The DWG Migration app will now copy the files from your local drive to Desktop Connector and prepare them for migration.

You can view the upload progress in the app or you can open the Desktop Connector home screen to view and monitor the upload progress.

Once it is complete, you can review an upload summary.
