It would be good if we could extend the handrail on and also return it back to the wall.
00:08
So whilst it's still selected,
00:09
we'll go over to the properties pallette and
00:11
click edit type to access those type properties.
00:15
We actually need to edit the hand row one family.
00:18
So we're in the hand row, one panel here on the type parameter.
00:21
We'll click the pipe wall mount here
00:24
and then from the ellipses button, we'll open up the type properties of that family.
00:31
Now looking down the type parameters,
00:32
we can see we have extension beginning and bottom and also extension end and top.
00:38
So we'll set the length of the extension for both of these to be six inches.
00:44
And we also have the extension star parameter.
00:47
So we'll click on none.
00:48
And then from the drop down, we'll choose wall
00:51
and then we'll repeat this for the end top of the handrail.
00:55
So now we'll click, OK, to save those changes
00:59
straight away,
00:59
we can see that's been applied in the view behind the type properties here.
01:03
So we'll click OK again,
01:05
to complete the changes
01:06
we can see now that that extends on by six inches and returns
01:10
back to the ball at both the top and bottom of the handrail.
01:14
It's not quite on the wall yet. So
01:17
we'll swap back to the level two floor plan view
01:20
and we can see now that it's
01:21
returning back to the edge of this port where we drew the line
01:25
and looking at the properties panel,
01:27
we can see we have an offset from path parameter.
01:30
So I set this to be two inches.
01:32
And then when this is applied,
01:34
we can see that hand rail move back so that it returns to the wall.
01:38
So we'll swap back to the crop stairs view to see that in 3d.
01:43
And then we can see it returning back to the wall as we want it.
01:47
Now we swap back to the entrance lobby, 3D view
01:51
and we can see those railings on the stairs
01:53
and returning back around the stairwell as well.
01:57
So finally, we just need to place the railing along the edge of the balcony here.
02:01
And to do this, we'll go to the level two plan view,
02:05
we'll just zoom out so we can see the edge of the balcony here.
02:09
And now from the architecture ribbon tab on the circulation panel,
02:12
we'll click the rail in tool.
02:15
Looking at the type selector,
02:17
we change this to be the glass panel, bottom field type.
02:21
And now looking at the sketch tools on the draw panel, we have the line tool selected
02:26
on the options bar just beneath that here, we'll set an offset of six inches.
02:32
And now if we go into the view and we snap
02:34
to the intersection here between the floor and the wall,
02:37
as we start to draw the line,
02:38
we can see that that's set six inches back from the edge of the railing.
02:42
So we'll just get across and snap to the wall at the other end.
02:47
And now we can click, finish edit mode
02:49
and that rain will be created
02:51
let swap back to the entrance lobby, 3d view.
02:54
And now we can see that we've got the
02:56
railings created on the stairs and around the stairwell
02:59
and also across the balcony.
03:01
And that completes the railings that we need to add to this model.
