00:03
In the Fusion Drawing workspace, you can create a detail view to enlarge and zoom in on a specific area of a model.
00:11
Magnifying an area of your design allows you to show details of complex features
00:17
or small components that may not be clearly visible otherwise.
00:21
Begin with your design open in the Drawing workspace,
00:24
and at least a base view already created.
00:27
In this example, a base view and a section view are shown.
00:32
On the Drawing toolbar, click Create > Detail View,
00:37
then select the parent view that you wish to use to create the view;
00:41
here, the base view is selected.
00:44
Next, select a point on the base view to act as the center point for your detail view.
00:50
Notice that a circle, or boundary, expands and contracts as your pointer moves closer to, or further from, the center point.
00:59
This determines the size of your detail view.
01:02
Adjust the boundary as needed, then click to place it.
01:07
Once you place the boundary, you see a preview of the detail view attached to your pointer.
01:13
Move the pointer to the desired location, and then click to place the view in your drawing.
01:19
You can adjust the view settings in the Drawing View dialog.
01:23
For example, under Appearance, you can change the Style to Visible Edges.
01:29
You can also adjust the scale or view name, especially if you have specific view naming conventions.
01:35
Under Edge Visibility, you can control the visibility of the different edge types.
01:41
And under Automated Center Marks and Center Lines,
01:44
you can opt to create center lines and center marks for all holes in a view.
01:49
In this example, Hole is selected,
01:52
but note the options for round extrudes, round cuts, and fillets.
01:58
Click OK to accept the changes and generate the detail view.
