Description
In today’s fast-paced construction industry, bridging the gap between real-world conditions and digital-project environments is key to achieving accuracy, minimizing errors, and streamlining project delivery. Reality capture technologies, such as laser scanning, allow teams to document site conditions with precision. However, turning that raw data into actionable models and coordinating them across disciplines can be a challenge without the right tools and workflow. This lab will help you to set up a practical workflow that integrates ReCap Pro 2026, Revit, and the Modeling module in Autodesk Forma to enable efficient scan-to-BIM and Modeling processes. It will demonstrate how point cloud data can be used not just for modeling, but also for coordination and clash detection, using mesh representations and cloud collaboration.
Key Learnings
- Learn about converting point cloud data into classified mesh geometry, and exporting it for use in Modeling in Autodesk Forma.
- Learn how to avoid extensive modeling from point clouds in Revit and use scan data directly in Autodesk Forma.
- Learn how to perform clash detection in Autodesk Forma using Revit models and mesh created using ReCap Pro 2026-based existing conditions.
- Learn about collaborating and resolving issues using the Modeling API for streamlined Modeling.
